Are U.S. greenbacks ok or should we switch to Canadian money, eh?
Hey Stuart, can we get a Bricklin Monopoly game? And would it have Canadian money!?

It would be great if you'd create a Bricklin Monopoly game. A long time ago, a member created two called Bricklinopoly: one for himself, one for donation to the auction. A few years later, the auctioned one was redonated. https://www.mymonopoly.com/

No worries, bring your US dollars. They are actually worth 2% more than Canadian dollars today!

Just a reminder everyone, if you do not register for London 2013 then you won't get your welcome package including Car Badge, super sweet Name Tag, Car Placard and more. Also If you intend on going to the banquet I need to know ahead of time or there may not be room for you and your poor ability to make a commitment or pay. This might mean you!

Registration update! We have (to date) 53 paid and registered participants, 180 room nights booked and 31 Bricklins registered. Looking at the reservation list I see a great many of you have not registered, paid Meet fees or bought banquet tickets. You know who you are!

Johnny-come-lately here. I called the toll free number for the hotel and waited on hold for approximately 9 minutes and 21 seconds. Then I decided to call the Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre direct at 519.679.4546. Even though the online reservation showed no availability, the kind reservation agent was able to offer me the same rate for all nights. I secured my reservation with a credit card.

I guess I snuck in under the wire. I can almost smell the Kelloggs Corn Flakes roasting from here.

Next task - Register for the event. Mr. Edgar, I shall take care of that task this weekend when I return home.

On the issue of crossing the border - I regularly cross the border between the U.S. and Canada, to the tune of 8 times per week. Instead of using my passport, I just had my license enhanced.

It's getting late in the game here. The quickest way to gain border access is to contact your State DMV / Secretary of State / or whatever they call the driver's licensing bureau where you reside. Find out the requirements for an enhanced driver's license. Hurry and apply. Don't worry about actually receiving the enhanced license before attending. A certified copy of your application and your current license is all that is needed to cross the border, once approved.

Michigan charges $50 or $55 to enhance a license, New York was $35 last time I checked. The enhancement expires when the license expires, so if it expires in August, it is pretty expensive for just a couple month's access.

Good luck and I look forward to meeting all of the attendees.

Border Crossings - Michigan

There are 6 border crossings for passenger vehicles between Michigan and Ontario.

Detroit has two, the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel.
The Walpole Algonac Ferry Line runs between Algonac and Walpole Island.
The Blue Water Ferry between Marine City and Sombra.
The Blue Water Bridge between Port Huron and Sarnia.
The Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge between Sault Ste. Marie and Sault Ste. Marie in the north.

In my opinion, the Blue Water Bridge at Port Huron / Sarnia is the quickest and easiest border crossing from Michigan to Ontario.

There are 4 border crossings between New York and Ontario at the Niagara River. I prefer the crossing at Lewiston / Queenston.
Further east is the crossing at Thousand Islands, as well as several additional crossings over the St. Lawrence Seaway.

... generally of late; the Lewiston crossing is the busiest and provides the longest lines and wait times; usually by a factor of 2. So if you use the Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge crossing and the posted wait is 15 minutes; it will be at least a half hour at Lewiston... for us folks in hot-running Bricks; I would choose the Rainbow Bridge first over the available 3 in the area... IMHO anyhow...
On the Canadian side, we have digital signs that report wait times at each of the 3 crossings with time to decide which one you want to use and alter your route to hit it. My last 10 crossings have netted me the aforementioned results. Coming from the U.S. back into Canada; I just use the Rainbow as a rule now.
