This year I would like some input on the forum about the location of the 2009 Bricklin meet. We have two choices this year:

LONG ISLAND NY near the Hamptons

Here is a glimpse of what is being planned. Wednesday cocktails at the Vasso residence, Hampton style. Thursday morning at the Riverhead raceway, then a cruise down Dune Road in Westhampton, view of the ocean and bay surrounded by multi million dollar homes. Top the day off with dinner at the Top of the Wharf, with an outrageous sunset and the best food in town. Friday options include a road rally to wineries on north shore, or a trip on the south shore to the tip of Long Island, Montauk Point. Final destination will determine location of dinner both of course with water views and repeat sunsets. On Saturday cars will be judged and a banquet like no other will be held. Shopping, putt putt golf, aquarium, culinary institute, fresh farm stands, and home made ice cream near by. The hotel is centrally located to all at points in the middle of the fish tail of Long Island and serves a complimentary breakfast. The rates $129. Wednesday and Thursday , $189 Friday and Saturday. Banquet $35. Buffet. Dinner Thursday, fish fry option $9.95 all you can eat.

Milwaukee WI

We would have a Harley Motorcyle tour on Thursday. Thursday night there will be a Brick Nic at Bill Schafer's house. Friday would be a tour of the Elkhart Lake speedway. Saturday show at a nice Sheraton with a price of $100 per night.

The Milwaukee trip is cheaper. So I would like to see eveyone chime in as to where you want to go next year. Help us out and post your view here. we will make a decision by 8/1

can we do a brewery tour in milwalkee?
I vote for Milwaukee but only because it is 400 miles closer for me.

your mileage may vary, parental guidance is advised, call before you dig, consult your
doctor, action figures sold separately, see a qualified tax professional, mind the gap, may contain peanuts, no user serviceable parts inside, offer void in Nebraska, batteries not included

Are the roads and traffic any better getting to Long Island than they used to be? I lost a full size pickup in a pothole trying to get to Lindenhurst about 10 years ago and they haven't found the truck yet! Any idea where in Milwaukee? Went to a reunion there and stayed across from a Basketball areana. Museum with I MAX and bar call "The Safe House" (secret agent themed) were walking distance. Don't remember about the parking. Please give more details and apox dates please.

I vote for LONG ISLAND NY near the Hamptons. It's a lot closer to me then Wisconsin. I live in Maryland. I like what is being planned for the Long Island version.

Our vote is for the Hamptons. As we do every year, we will make a mini vacation of the Meet and spend some time in the local area before the Meet. The Hamptions is a vacation spot we have always wanted to visit. Sounds like the Vasso's have planned lots of great activities for the group to do together.

I thought the Hamptons were decided upon at the Gettysburg dinner. That is a do-able bricklin drive from the east coast and looks like a good time...I vote Hamptons...

The Hamptons is about 500 miles further for me so driving would not be an option. There is a chance I would try the Milwaukee drive, but it is still 500 miles.

I would vote for Milwaukee since there have been two meets on the East coast in back to back years. Just trying for a little balance. I am not sure how many missed the last two meets due to the location. So they need to speak up if that was an issue.

My vote is Milwaukee, but I am bias because I live in Wisconsin.
The City on Lake Michigan is a great place, so much going on.
