Posted - April 28 2007 : 18:50:44 Hi there! I see that according to the "Where Are They Now" list on the website there are about 30 Bricklins in the state of Arizona (at least that BI knows about).
I talked to Herb Grasse (who lives in Scottsdale) a couple of weeks ago about a post he had on this forum a few years back, about forming an AZ Bricklin Club. Herb said he was still interested! I also would be interested in doing something like this, or even just a few of us getting together informally would be great.
Are any other Bricklin owners out there who would like to get together somewhere in AZ?
Thanks, Daniel |

Posted - May 19 2007 : 19:54:11 Actually, I talked to Kim for about 30 minutes one night, a week or two ago. It was strange how I found out about him. At a DeLorean club meeting a while back, a fellow DeLorean club member hands me a business card for a Corvette restorations and parts place in AZ. We both also have C4 Corvettes in addtion to our DeLoreans, so I assumed that this was why I was being handed the card...
Well, it turned out that it was Kim's card and I was told that although he is very good with the Corvette stuff, I was being given this card because he "is in to Bricklins". I called him. Kim says he has NOS parts all over the place, including the ability to reproduce body panels in fiberglass like Terry does. Wow! I still can't believe that someone with all of these resources is not advertising his parts or restoration abilities.
I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but when I was reading some older stuff on the 'net I came across old posts that would seem that Kim had a falling out of sorts with the Bricklin community. Or at least chose not to be active any longer for whatever reason. I was therefore not going to bring him up for this reason. Of course, Kim or anyone else, is more than welcome to be a part of a local group. I believe he said he even still had a Bricklin or two in storage!

Posted - May 18 2007 : 16:25:54 That would be Kim Ian Madsen I believe. Was a BI Member until about 10 years ago. I googled him and found ... http://www.corvetterestorationaz.com/aboutus/
Might be worth a try ... |

Posted - May 18 2007 : 13:09:47 Isn't there a guy in AZ that repairs or used to repair Bricks? Thought his name was Kim near Lake Havasu. He might me able to put you in touch with some AZ owners Thought he was responsible for this restoration

Posted - May 18 2007 : 12:51:04 Actually, the only response I got was from the previous owner of my car! He didn't know it was me when he emailed me though. It is possible that since summer is now here (over 100 degrees every day, this past week or two) that people are laying low - our cars might melt, ya know. I did find another Bricklin owner in AZ though, so they are out there, and I won't give up!

Hope to see you in Tucson then! Noting your car collection, you could have lots of funs pointing out to the "un-learned", the differences between the Bradley, DeLorean, & Bricklin. I had someone ask me if my car was built on a VW chassis... ;-( |

When I found out about the Tucson meet coming up later this year, I actually set a goal to get VIN 1789 ready by then (it had been sitting for 19 years). I am about an hour from Tucson, so it really is pretty close to me, for a change. Certainly this will be much closer than the meet in PA in 2008 (!), partially with the DeLorean community (which my DeLorean club and I are helping to plan, btw).
Thanks, Daniel |

Posted - April 30 2007 : 17:02:18 There will be a meet hosted in Tucson by Ron & Margaret Jackson.
I will post more details to this site later. The information was recently published in the April 2007 Brickline.
