If all goes according to plan, in approx 2 weeks I will own the car which I have wanted to own since I saw Malcom Bricklin interviewed by Tom Snyder on "Tomorrow". If anyone can supply sure-fire deal killers please do. Right now, I'm just excited about the possibility of realizing a life-long dream. I plan to visit this site often as I begin the restoration.

Just picked up #458 out of a barn where it sat for more than a decade. Last registered in 1989 in Dallas. It's been painted Burgundy and has a V6 3.6L ford. From vin this should be a safety white with a 360 automatic. Just read article of sand blasting process to get back to the original acrylic color (unless there is damage) Is this best method or are there other recommended ways? Like to know if other owners are here in dallas. I have a warehouse, lift and paint-booth (not open to the public) but could do a tech day? Dan

I'm looking for information on two Bricklins.
The first one is vin #0363 which my Dad purchased brand new in 1974, but he sold it in the mid 90's. The second is vin #0321 which I purchased in 1998, but I sold it in 1999.
Any information about these two Bricklins would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Troy
** Webmaster ** Thanks for stopping by. I'll assume you are just curious where the cars are now.
Looks like you already have an account for the Forum. If you logon and search the VINs Forum you'll find 0312 (http://www.bricklin.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1725). (VIN 0363 does not appear.)
"Last known location" for VINs may be found at our "Where Are They Now" page. The information there comes from our database. We only have information on VINs that check in with the club. Few contact us when they purchase a Bricklin and most don't think to let us know that they sold a car and provide new owner information. The information provided there will give you an indication of where the Club thinks the car is.
Please contact VINRegistry@Bricklin.org to submit YOUR information for the database and make queries about VINs. Please note that we will generally ask the current owner (where known) to contact you directly rather than release specific information.

I was charter member of BI (membership number 33). Jack Siuta was President.
I own VIN 0772, purchased new by me at Copeland Motors, Virginia. Ordered and waited 9 months. Early Bricklines stated that my VIN 0772 was the last AMC off the line. Is this still correct?
My car has been stored in a climate controlled garage, not driven, for 17 years. I would like to get it going again but am not sure what safety measures should be followed. Appreciate any suggestions and verification if VIN 0772 is still considered the LAST AMC Bricklin.
Thanks, Gary Beckler
** Webmaster ** Greets Gary
I would suggest that you register for the Forum to gain access to any information that may already exists on this topic; and to discuss this with other owners. Our guestbook is not designed to be a vehicle for this type of discussion. For your safety (and the successful revival of 0772 from it's slumber) I would urge you to take advantage of the information. Registration is free and you don't have to be a current Member of BI to participate (although we always appreciate support of our efforts here). Simply go to http://www.Bricklin.org/Forum and Register.
Regarding your VIN I would direct you to Randy Poulos's site at http://bricklin-sv-1-build-history.com/. Randy has done extensive research on Bricklin VINs and I would consider him to be the 'Go-To' guy for that information. (A quick glance at the first page leads me to believe that VIN 0772 is the last 1974 / AMC.)

So that should not be to hard. I can not wait to see it in person. Now begins the fun part. Take a look and let me know what you think. John Ebay item # 230697455452

Hi gang, hope someone actually reads this.
I know the numbers are dwindling so thought I'd share. . .there's a 75 SV-1 in the local Pull-A-Part here in knoxville. I've only seen one other example (that was actually driving around) so I was very surprised to see one in a yard. Not much left of it but worth checking out if you need parts. At least they'll be cheap!
I know of Bricklin more for his association with Subaru, which is where I used to work.
** Webmaster ** Yes Ben, someone actually reads this stuff! LOL
Thanks for updating us on the VIN in the Pull-A-Part in Knoxville. I can't tell you how helpful and important reports like these are; especially for VINs that will probably never be seen again.
A request to any others that may happen across a Bricklin and have an inclination to report it; try to get the VIN number. Even the last 4 digits would be great. The VIN number is on the dashboard where it meets the windshield - driver's side corner. It can be seen from the outside of the car. There's also a VIN plate on the bottom of the drivers door. It will be at eye level when door is fully open. (A decent cell phone picture of either can work if the lighting is right.)
If the following picture matches what you saw, it's VIN 2242 and we are aware of it.
We did have a BI Member check it out and there's not much of value there.
By the way, if this is one of those places that crushes the car find out what date it's due to be done and go watch. One of our Forum Members in California went to a local yard to pull parts but was too late. The car had been crushed already. Apparently it gave the crusher some problems; VIN 0368 didn't go easy ...
quote: Originally posted by matt_vaq136 regarding VIN 0368
This car had officially been crushed and shredded as of about 2 weeks ago on or about 16JAN2011. I went down to pull parts off at the junkyard it was at and had been informed that "the black back to the future car" had been crushed. And although it started off looking like it would crush easily; the Bricklin actually broke the crusher! It had to sit in it - half crushed - for about 2-3 days before the crusher was fixed. Shortly after that it headed to the shredder across the street... and found out that the car did go into the shredder at some point - no confirmation on the day - but all of the teeth of the shredder had to be replaced after a car had gone in and broke several of the massive metal teeth/jaws that eat the car in to tiny pieces on either the 25th or the 26th of January 2011. Sad day to be a Brick...

I just purchased vin 0134 in Sparks, NV it has 15,000 plus miles on the vehicle. I had thought about buying one in 1974 but bought something else. So, now I have one. It is safety white and is in overall very good condition, including the interior.
** Webmaster ** Congrats Randy!
