This is just a question and I'm not looking to start anything. I'm just looking for an explanation so I can understand the reasoning for a joint meet.
Thanks
Not having been able to attend the Hamptons meet and not knowing what was discussed about next years I'm curious as to why it's going to be a joint one with the Delorean club. Is the following paragraph the reason why?
Every meet is successful in its own way but the 2008 Bricklin Delorean meet in Gettysburg was the most successful in terms of participation. We had a total of 47 Bricklins at the show. This was the most Bricklins that I have seen in one place. Toronto did have 51 cars in 1991 and Frankenmuth in 1994 had 44 cars. But other than these meets; we average about 34 cars per show.

I hope no one objects to my opinion on this question..Historically as small as this club it is difficult to find someone that is willing and able to organize an event like this.. Over the years it seems like it is always the same people who are willing to take it on..By joining forces with Ken (from the delorean group) who is a fantastic meet organizer, it gives our club the opportunity to have a meet in a new area.
A big benefit at the last joint meet was meeting a whole new crowd of car people and seeing and doing things that usually did not occur at the normal bricklin meets..
P.S. I really hope we have those snazzy badges too.. |

We had a chance to go to Lexington and participate as equals. Which is cool but it is also fun to particpate in a really big event. Gettysburg was great but it could have been better. We could right the wrong of staying at two seperate hotels. In addition, no one came forward during the year and volunteered to be a meet director. We did hear a half hearted play for seven springs PA; But I will not support a meet with room rates of $189 per night. Money is waaaay to tight these days and we would not get much participation. So Lexington was the clear choice!!! Lots to do, same hotel and lots going on! It will be a riot! |

I am for getting something a little more south than most of the meets. So this is an opportunity to see how that works out. I am actually hoping to get my car there. |

If room rates are an issue ,whom ever negotiated these didn't do very well,The travelocity price is $10 a night less but of course since the whole hotel has been booked they are not available. Not bitching about price, and I will probably be there, just waiting for the date of a wedding I have to go to england, as long as it doesn't conflict I will be there |
your mileage may vary, parental guidance is advised, call before you dig, consult your doctor, action figures sold separately, see a qualified tax professional, mind the gap, may contain peanuts, no user serviceable parts inside, offer void in Nebraska, batteries not included |

The more cars, the better. I think, with equal participation, and a reasonable cost per night, this will be a great event. I am hoping to have VIN# 2856 done for it, but we will have to see. As for other locations, if people are interested in hosting a meet for 2011, by all means, step up to the plate. Seven Springs for 2011 has been mentioned, but again, only if the rates are reasonable are most people going to attend. We do have members that are not wealthy and that live on a fixed income, so anything that can be done to keep costs down for those members is needed and appreciated. Just my two cents worth. Yes I agree. Rates have to be reasonable. That is why seven springs just would not work. I think $129 per night is the top that we can really go. The Delorean club negotiated the rates about a year ago when the economy was better. After visiting the hotel I think it is worth it. It is a FANTASTIC!!!! Better than anyplace we have stayed recently. If any one is interested in hosting the 2011 meet; Step up now!!!!

I just made my reservations around 5:05PM EDT and the rate I was quoted was $119.00 a night not $129.00. She double checked and said $119.00. I don't have any complaints.
See you there (fingers crossed)
