I know there will be at least three vendors selling parts at the meet. Plus you have people who just bring small items and sell in the parking lot. I would love if Terry Tanner and Bob Hoffman would sell parts. They both usually don't but they do drop parts off if you call in advance. We are not having any seminars this year; But everyone asks questions and it becomes quite a bit of fun in the parking lot. Bob Hoffman is especially helpful. Pull him aside and show him your car and he gives great tech advice.

Hi Jim, this is Robert (The guy who informed you about that Bricklin in Splendora, TX that needs a lot of TLC). I am a member of dmctalk.com, and I let the guys over there know that your club will be attending Gettysburg. A lot of them will be there with their DeLoreans, and many are also Bricklin fans (There are a couple that even own both cars).

I have become a fan of the Bricklins. It started with the 70s Lotus Esprit, which led me to the DeLorean, which led me to the Bricklin. I admit (and guys, please don't crucify me for this) I didn't like them at first, but I have grown to love them. I think I was trying to compare them to the DeLoreans, but I realized that Bricklins are their own cars. Sure, they were born from similar dreams and have similar styles. And sure the dreams that spawned them met tragic faiths worthy of a Greek tragedy.

The Bricklins and DeLoreans are like cousins, sharing many similarities, but they are also each unique and I have come to love both. So please forgive me of my past sins if I ever spoke an ill word towards your fine cars, for I have repented and will not ever do so again.

I am glad to see them coming together for this show. It will be a great show.

To bad we couldn't save that car in Texas. But when he comes down to earth the car will sell. I hope you will make the meet! Two big items:

Hemmings Motor news will be there to cover the meet. They want to do a big comparison test between the Brickln and Delorean!

The New York Times is going to be there to do a big article on the meet!!!

LOTS OF PRESS is a good thing!

I won't be able to make it :( (I am recovering from colon cancer). I wish I could, but I know a few folks from the DeLorean club that are going.

Comparing the DeLorean and Bricklin? If it is a race, the Bricklin would win. The DeLoreans don't go very fast. They are probably the slowest sports car ever built. That is something we DeLorean fans have to accept(I am not an owner yet.

There is a saying DeLorean owners have about racing any car, "I may not beat you in a race, but I will look cool while you are passing me." :)

I am guessing it will be a comparison about what they have similar and such. They should also compare their creators and the similarities in their dream.

About that Splendora Bricklin. If I had the means, I would save it. I am an okay car mechanic, but that one looks beyond my skills, but I am sure someone could bring it back to life. When I first saw it I was like, "That is a Bricklin." My buddy I was with, was like, "What is a Bricklin?" (He is an classic Pickup Truck man). I preceded to tell him about Bricklins. My excitement faded when I saw what sad shape she was in. I told the guy he needs to get it out of the elements- that sitting a car on grass and dirt is the worst thing you can do to it(I have seen cars that look perfect on top, but their whole underside is rusted out because that sat in a field.) But he wouldn't listen.

Anyway, I am glad to see the Bricklins and DeLoreans getting together. I think the two cars should come together to form a Gull-wing club.

I think the vin is 2313.

I saw it about this time last year. I kicked myself for not bringing my camera. I was actually checking out a Lotus Esprit he has when I saw it. It is in sad shape. It had moss growing inside it. It is going to have to be stripped down so that all parts can be cleaned, and I bet it will need half-its parts replaced.

But I think it is do-able for the right person. The guy needs to come down on its price first.

I thought about going back and getting pictures, but if we keep showing an interest in it, he'll never come down on the price. Plus, getting colon cancer through a monkey wrench into my life.

Some Back to the Future cast members are going to be at GETTYSBURG! I had a crush on Claudia Wells. She played Marty's first girlfriend it the original Back to the Future movie. I remember cruising to see the movie in my green Bricklin in 1985. She will be there!
