California Bricklin Owners is hosting a meet just north of San Francisco. Meet dates 10/12 through 10/16/2008.
Meet host is Kevin Hand (909) 597-7414

We have chosen the Sonoma Wine Country and the California Coast above San Francisco as the focal points for this years Western Bricklin meet. This time period is right around harvest and crush for the wineries and the area is very busy, especially during weekends. For this reason, we have taken the unusual step of moving the timing of the event to be centered during the week, rather than the weekend. This will accomplish two significant goals - 1>We will avoid the worst of the weekend traffic - 2>It will allow us to get a better rate for our hotel during what is considered peak period (higher prices for lodging)

The Best Western Garden Inn, located at 1500 Santa Rosa Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, will be our host hotel. We have secured a small block of rooms at the following rates:
Deluxe King $107 / 2 Queen beds $107 / Single Queen $102 (plus tax all rooms)
Tel: 1-707-546-4031 (must specify/request Bricklin event) Rooms will be held until 9/15 and then released - So be sure to book ASAP!

Calendar of events:
Sunday 10/12 Arrival and informal dinner at a local restaurant
Early arrivals may choose to visit the Charles Schulz (Peanuts) Museum, the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, or the home of author Jack London. Dinner for early arrivals will likely be at Johnny Garlics (owned by Guy Fieri Food Networks host of Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives)

Monday 10/13 Driving Tour of Sonoma Valley Wineries
We will spend the day enjoying a leisurely drive through the wine region valley visiting a couple of wineries. We will stop at highly popular markets/delis that have an unbelievable selection of food, cheeses, & wines, etc. Purchase what suits your fancy, as we will then go to a nearby winery and have lunch on their picnic grounds.

Tuesday 10/14 Drive a portion of the scenic the Pacific Coast
We will enjoy a scenic drive to the coast making a stop in Bodega Bay, and then continue to Tomales Bay area and proceeding to Pt. Reyes stopping along the way for lunch and shopping. From there we will continue to Mt. Tamalpias for a visit to Muir Woods to see giant coastal redwoods. Finally, we will end up just north of San Francisco to enjoy views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge. Dinner will be at a bay side restaurant with a view of the city.

Wednesday 10/15 San Francisco
We will drive into San Francisco where we will park our cars at the famed Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. I was able to find an easy route into and out of the city, avoiding the extremely steep hills and confusing restricted driving lanes that make getting around in San Francisco, a driver's nightmare. From where we park our cars, we will be able to enjoy the Fisherman's Wharf and Embarcadero areas, visit Ghiraridelli Square, and ride San Francisco's fabled Cable Cars to other significant areas of interest within the city.

Below are links to websites that cover each of the areas that you can easily visit from our parking location:

Thursday 10/16 Sadly, time to depart for home

I still have not been able to resolve the issue of posting downloadable files to the CBO website though hotel reservation information is there for your use. Don't forget to make your reservation for the hotel ASAP as we have only reserved a small
block of rooms.

Best Regards,

Kevin Hand
