Dear Mr. Wajda,

Hello! My name is Sara Graves and I'm involved in producing a reality
television show about the restoration of low production vehicles. We
want to center our pilot episode on a 1974 SV-1!

The working title of the production is "Odd-balls", (a testament
more to the mechanics than the vehicles), and we hope to be filming
in Wilmington, NC, over the course of the next few weeks.

Bricklin.org has been vital in providing me with information about
this car and its history (we have a green SV1 with all original body
panels!). What I would love to have is your permission to use some
of the information from your site in the production (history,
pictures, etc.). We would also like to contact nearby owners to see
if they would like to be involved in any way.

Also, is there someone I need to contact for legal permission to use
the Bricklin name/logo in this documentary?

I really appreciate your help in this matter and look forward to
hearing from you soon.

Warmest Regards,

Sara Graves, Producer

I've uploaded the trailer to YouTube. It handles all that messy codec stuff automatically. Here it is:

FYI
Doesn't appear the production company is advertising any information for e-mail contact. Anyone in the Wilmington, NC are willing to attempt contact?

(I think this is the site - http://imminentfilms.com)

The following is some correspondence with one of the folks involved with the show. I've since sent the contact another mailing, but got no further response, so here's what I know....

Good morning Mr. Mitchell,

As far as I know, the show hasn't been completed. Though, shortly after our correspondence, I left the production. However, I will forward this to the creator, Mark VanCura. I'm sure he will be happy to update you.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Regards,
Sara K. Graves

Hi Ms. Graves!

Some time ago you contacted our President, James Wajda, about the Odd-balls Autoshoppe. (Around 8/2006.) Specifically, the one about the Bricklin.

Was this ever broadcast? Is the show available on DVD for resale (to our club members)? Would it be possible to find out the VIN of the car and what happened to it?

Does anybody know if this show ever aired?

I wonder if it would be possible to get a copy of the pilot if they don't sell it. (Another failed Bricklin related venture for the archives ... )

I believe they are going to try to sell the pilot once it's done according to the gal I tt who is involved in the production.

Any indications when or what channel this is going to be on. I want to make sure my VCR is on.

Not sure if I should be doing this just yet, but ...

Odd-Balls Autoshop Trailer

(OddBallsTrailer.zip file contains obt.mp4. Current / recent versions of Quicktime should play it without problem. I was also able to get MS Windows Media player to work by downloading 'codecs pack' from http://www.cole2k.net.)

Jim - did anyone get the VIN???
